Energy Lesson 5 : Renewable Energy and Michigan

1. Have students write an essay in which they use evidence to support their recommendation of an energy portfolio that could potentially be used in their community.

2. Ask students to create a concept map of alternative energy showing the environmental, economic, and social advantages and risks of using different renewable energy technologies, reasons for using renewable energy sources, and the suitability of renewable energy sources in Michigan.

3. Assign students to write a poem or song comparing and contrasting the advantages and disadvantages of non-renewable and renewable energy resources.
