Climate Change Lesson 2 : Earth's Energy Balance

1. Investigating Energy Balance: Directions and Student Activity sheet can be found on the MEECS Climate Change Resource DVD.

Continue the lesson by doing the Investigating Energy Balance student activity. This is a guided inquiry activity, based on the science investigation student form developed for the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP). The basic equipment needed for the Investigating Energy Balance student activity includes: a heat source (heat lamp, incandescent light bulb), containers (2L pop bottles, clear plastic containers, or plastic storage bags), thermometers, water, sand, ice, and soil.
