This assessment will tie together the tools and maps the students have been using in this lesson. Distribute the Michigan Land Use and Michigan Land Stewardship maps and the Classifying Land Use Lesson Assessment to pairs of students. Have them use the maps and their Land Use Measuring Stick for Michigan to answer questions 1-4.

2. Where is most of Michigan’s agricultural land? [Southern Lower Peninsula.]
3. Who owns most of Michigan forests? [Private, non-industrial.]
4. Where do most of Michigan’s people live? [Southeastern quarter of the state.]
