Ecosystems and Biodiversity Lesson 1 : Ecosystem Basics
1. The Is That Really an Ecosystem? student activity can be used as an informal assessment tool, as can either of two extension activities: Ecosystem Scavenger Hunt or Observing Schoolyard Ecosystems.
2. Have students write a postcard describing a Michigan ecosystem, as well as an imaginary (or real) visit to this ecosystem type.
