Ecosystems and Biodiversity Lesson 3 : Ecosystems
1. Have small groups of students work together to plan and perform a skit demonstrating the water cycle. Have students portray the following: water molecules going through processes of transpiration, evaporation, condensation, precipitation, infiltration, and run-off.
2. Have students create a concept map, linking the following words: precipitation, rain, hail, snow, ocean, groundwater, surface water, transpiration, evaporation, condensation, infiltration, runoff, and sunlight. Student concept maps should provide evidence of understanding.
Journal Assignment Idea
Ask students to write a story from the perspective of a water molecule, describing how it cycles through an ecosystem.
