Students will be able to learn about interjections by watching a Schoolhouse Rock video, Interjections!, with its catchy tune, then see instructional videos on the definition of interjections and how they are used in sentences. Finally, students will be able to check their knowledge of interjections through games and online quizzes and apply their knowledge in their own writing.

It is important that students are taught to identify what is fake and what is real. After reading the content on a website about “The Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus”, an endangered animal, students will understand that when they search online that not all sources are credible.

Students can use these free sites provided to learn and practice graphing strategies that will allow them to dig deeper into information in order to gain a stronger understanding of manipulating and understanding data.

It is important that students learn how to search safely online. Students will get an introduction to safe search engines, including MeL (Michigan e-Library.org), to find ways to search safely for information. Students will also review how using key effective keywords will give them better results.

Kahoot! is a free tool for using technology to administer quizzes, discussions or surveys. It is a game based classroom response system played by the whole class in real time. Multiple-choice questions are projected on the screen. Students answer the questions with their smartphone, tablet or computer.

Children love to build! The Keva Planks have become very popular to use in classrooms.
