Mind Mapping is one of the best ways to capture your thoughts. It is great for note taking, helping you become more creative and solve problems effectively.

Students will use previous knowledge of Ozobots and coding to color code a path in a maze to create a snowman.

Children can set goals, create action plans, select resources & examples of their work to show their personal growth and success . They can put this work into their own portfolios. Children who are creative thinkers and problem-solvers develop as innovative designers. Teachers will use SeeSaw to guide students to create their portfolios for goal-setting and sharing their progress and growth towards their goals.

Students will design a fun and safe roller coaster with at least one loop. Students start by simulating a coaster with Amusement Park Physics. Here they learn about giving their coaster the maximum energy needed to complete the course. Their coaster design is rated for safety and fun. After simulating a coaster and understanding how to design a safe and fun coaster, students use the design process to create a prototype coaster for an amusement park.

Students work to solve an interactive Rube Goldberg project using strategic trial and error processes. They begin at level one and increase levels as they become successful on the free website engineering.com

Squishy Circuits are fun for all ages! Use conductive dough and insulating dough to teach the basics of electrical circuits in a fun, hands-on way. Students can create a circuit which will Illuminate LED lights, make a motor spin, or a buzzer sound. Power is supplied by a 4AA battery pack and travels through the conductive dough to provide power to LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), buzzers, or motors.

Do the egg drop challenge with Strawbees! Have the students be innovative designers and construct a model for the egg with the Strawbees so when it is dropped, it will not break. The students are learning about force and gravity. Using technology they can gather information to look at how they can develop the best model.

Students will follow a design process to create a video tutorial by recording the screen. Screencasting is a great way to capture the screen of your computer to create how-to videos.

Students will be challenged in engage in design thinking as they use logic and their imagination to solve unique problems. Students will be tasked with creating an object specifically designed for a given character.

Tinkercad is a free online application that quickly allows students to virtually design three-dimensional objects and create files for 3D printing.

There is nothing more fun than tinkering and taking apart old and broken equipment and toys and creating something from it. Give a student an old phone or computer and have them take it apart. They can try to put it together again or create something new from the pieces. The students will see what these things look like inside and better understand how the equipment and toys work.

Toony Tool is a free web tool that works on any device with a web browser. It allows students to be creative as they create their own cartoon/realistic scenes, comic scenes, posters or memes. It does not require a login. Pictures can be uploaded as well. Students can download or share their creations.
