A work in progress, CK-12's Algebra I Second Edition is a clear presentation of algebra for the high school student. Topics include: Equations and Functions, Real Numbers, Equations of Lines, Solving Systems of Equations and Quadratic Equations.

CK-12's Texas Instruments Algebra I Teacher's Edition Flexbook allows an Instructor to teach students to better utilize a graphing calculator in understanding the fundamental concepts of algebra.

Students have already had experience with patterns of numbers when studying linear, quadratic, and exponential functions in both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. This is their first introduction to the formal notation used for sequences and summation notation for series. Students will explore series and summation notation. Arithmetic sequences and series, including finding common differences, terms, and partial sums will be examined in this unit. Students will also learn about geometric sequences and series, including finding common ratios, terms, partial sums, and infinite sums. Students will also explore how to write numbers with repeating decimals as fractions in simplest form using infinite geometric series and common ratio concepts.

CK-12 Foundation's Basic Algebra FlexBook is an introduction to the algebraic topics of functions, equations, and graphs for middle-school and high-school students.

Using the Design Recipe, students will work through a series of word problems about calculating the height of a rocket after a given number of seconds from launch. The functions they write will be used to animate the rocket launch.

In the last stage, students wrote some very simple functions - but more sophisticated functions demand a more thoughtful approach. The Design Recipe is a structured approach to writing functions that includes writing a purpose statement and test cases to ensure that the function works as expected. Once students have mastered the Design Recipe process, they can apply it to any word problem they encounter.

In this stage students practice using the Design Recipe to write functions which solve for word problems. Towards the end of the lesson students should be ready to begin using the Design Recipe on problems from your own math curriculum.

Returning to the Big Game we started in stage 7, students will use the Design Recipe to develop functions that animate the Target and Danger sprites in their games.

This course covers relations and functions, specifically, linear, polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, and rational functions. Additionally, sections on conics, systems of equations and matrices and sequences are also available.

In this YouCubed task. students examine what happens when you keep continuing a pattern, forever. Students delve into the infinite and find the patterns and their area.

All of us have felt sick at some point in our lives. Many times, we find ourselves asking, "What is the quickest way that I can start to feel better?" During this two-lesson unit, students study that question and determine which form of medicine delivery (pill, liquid, injection/shot) offers the fastest relief. This challenge question serves as a real-world context for learning all about flow rates. Students study how long various prescription methods take to introduce chemicals into our blood streams, as well as use flow rate to determine how increasing a person's heart rate can theoretically make medicines work more quickly. Students are introduced to engineering devices that simulate what occurs during the distribution of antibiotic cells in the body.

The basic properties of functions of one complex variable. Cauchy's theorem, holomorphic and meromorphic functions, residues, contour integrals, conformal mapping. Infinite series and products, the gamma function, the Mittag-Leffler theorem. Harmonic functions, Dirichlet's problem. This is an advanced undergraduate course dealing with calculus in one complex variable with geometric emphasis. Since the course Analysis I is a prerequisite, topological notions like compactness, connectedness, and related properties of continuous functions are taken for granted. This course offers biweekly problem sets with solutions, two term tests and a final exam, all with solutions.

This lesson unit is intended to help teachers assess how well students are able to identify linear and quadratic relationships in a realistic context: the number of tiles of different types that are needed for a range of square tabletops. In particular, this unit aims to identify and help students who have difficulties with: choosing an appropriate, systematic way to collect and organize data; examining the data and looking for patterns; finding invariance and covariance in the numbers of different types of tile; generalizing using numerical, geometrical or algebraic structure; and describing and explaining findings clearly and effectively.

This Nrich problem provides a fraction-based challenge for students who already possess a good understanding of fraction addition and subtraction, and it leads to algebraic manipulation of that same process.

CK-12 Foundation's Middle School Math € Grade 6 Flexbook covers the fundamentals of fractions, decimals, and geometry. Also explored are units of measurement, graphing concepts, and strategies for utilizing the book's content in practical situations.

Students use a visual image of infinite possibility to make connections between the visual and the equation.

This is an Algebra 2 Unit that explores sequences and series.  This includes arithmetic, geometric, and other sequences, as well as recursive and explicit formulas that generate these sequences.  Arithmetic, finite geometric, and infinite geometric series are also covered in this unit.  This unit is designed as a flipped instructional unit.  Worksheets and video links are provided.

After geometric series, this Nrich problem is one of the simplest infinite series with finite sum, all of whose terms are positive. This geometric demonstration of the result requires students to continue a pattern and to use several steps of reasoning to deduce that the sum is bounded by 2. Summing infinite geometric series also play an important role in the this proof, so this could be used to show an application of them in a larger proof. (It would be useful for students to be able to sum 12+14+18+⋯ before tackling this problem.)
