CK-12 Basic Physics - Second Edition updates CK-12 Basic Physics and is intended to be used as one small part of a multifaceted strategy to teach physics conceptually and mathematically.

This is the culminating lesson for Battle of the Seeds. In this lesson, students will evaluate the effectiveness of different types of weed control (none, manual and chemical) and different types of seed (genetically modified and non-genetically modified). They will then utilize the information from this lab to perform a cost-analysis and determine which type of seed and weed control gives the best outcome financially.

Rocks cover the earth's surface, including what is below or near human-made structures. With rocks everywhere, breaking rocks can be hazardous and potentially disastrous to people. Students are introduced to three types of material stress related to rocks: compressional, torsional and shear. They learn about rock types (sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic), and about the occurrence of stresses and weathering in nature, including physical, chemical and biological weathering.

Students will explore social issues that plague our society and the world to find an issue they are passionate about or are interested in learning more about.Through a process of questioning, students will develop research questions that they will seek the answers to by conducting research of a variety of sources both in print and digital.Students will create a blog site to share their research findings and write 8 blog posts, each focusing on answering a different question or aspect of their social issue, using evidence from credible sources. Their blogs will be published and shared with an authentic audience.
